GLENN PUBLIC SCHOOL

News from Ms. Burghard's classroom

How Can I Help Glenn Elementary?

Many times we hear parents and family members ask this question.  Times are tough, financially, for many families.  However, there are some ways that you can help our school without a lot of additional cost to you.  You can get everyone you know to save the following for us:

Nestle Pure Life water labels – Last year we were able to order a Deluxe ball pump, Double Dutch jump rope, two pair of soccer goalie gloves and two new soccer balls.

Box Tops for Education – These are on specially marked items from the grocery store.  Every one that we send to the company we receive 10 cents to purchase supplies, field trips, special lunches and many more things.  We earned over $200 last year.

Campbell’s Labels for Education -  We still collect these.  We need a lot of these to order some of the big ticket items so we keep on collecting them and sending them in.  So far we have over 25,000.

Cartridges for Kids – Any used ink cartridge can be brought in to the school and sent out to receive money.  The company even pays for the shipping.

Goodsearch – By using www.goodsearch.com, instead of Google or another search engine, we will receive 1 cent.  Last year we got a check for $100.  Make sure to verify Glenn Elementary as the charity of choice.

Meijer – Join to be a Meijer One member.  This is not a credit card.  It is simply a card that you present when you pay for your purchases.  The more purchases made by Glenn Elementary supporters the larger our Community Reward will be.

Frito-Lay, Nabisco, Kool-Aid, Caprisun – Have all started a new program to recycle drink pouches, chip wrappers, and cookie wrappers.  The school will receive 2 cents for each one turned in.

Ronald McDonald House – Collect aluminum tabs from cans and bring them in to school.  Just by collecting the tabs we can help fund this very special, non-profit house that allows families to stay free when their children are receiving hospital treatment.

Breast Cancer Research – Yoplait yogurt has a program where you can save and send in the pink breast cancer research peel off lids and send them in to the company to help fund this very important research.

2008-2009 Yearbooks – We still have about 8 yearbooks from last year.  Since we got them late we did not have a chance to sell the extras.  The books are $19 and checks can be made out to GLENN PTC.  These will be sold on a first come, first sold basis.

Thank you very much for your continued support of our school.  We strive to help our students, our families and our community.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. Burghard at bburghard@glennpublicschool.org
